Kitchen Almost Complete

GO TO THE BEGINNING OF THE BLOG

We are getting closer to our goal of occupying our new home.  The appliances have been delivered and installed.  The finish carpenter, Mark Falzetta, has completed his work on the first floor by installing the shoe moldings and all of the cabinet pulls.  His work has been outstanding.  Steve [used to work for Sears... didn't get his last name, but was arranged by the Sears saleswoman] installed the trim package for the refrigerator and freezer.  And the mirror for the master bathroom was installed.

These are pictures Kathy took of the kitchen area.

Kathy loves the built-in look of her new refrigerator and freezer which are separate units, but trimmed out to look like one big one.  The nice thing is that they are really quite affordable.  Sears has a good thing going with those units, although I believe Whirlpool offers something similar.

As you can see, there is still work to be done here.  The closet doors are off because the downstairs has to be painted.

We haven't even seen the floors, except for a couple of small areas, because Peter Varga, who did the finish work, covered them to protect them from the work that is still going on.  But from what we've seen, they are wonderful.

We have at least a couple of weeks of work before we can move in, but we will be in by the end of the month.

  1. Have you considered getting rid of some of those cabinets and putting in more refrigerators? I don't see how you can hold enough food for two people in that one. Maybe you can turn the garage into a walk-in freezer?

  2. The garage is a walk in freezer for 3 months of the year.

  3. We don't all eat out every night like Mr. Anonymous - some of us spend ungodly amounts of money at Costco and eat in.

Hey, wait a minute, am I saying I could be eating out every night? I could be on the wrong side of this deal!
